President Grant’s Tomb

Eagle Statue outside Grant Memorial

First off, Happy 4th of July everyone! I wanted to post something historical for the holiday and figured what is more American then writing about one of the past leaders of our country. The Civil War was won with his efforts (and the efforts of the soldiers who fought the war)! Our country would not be the same without him today.

While visiting NYC, Tyler and I decided to stop by to say hello to President Grant and his wife Julia. This beautiful memorial is located in Morningside Heights and is easily accessible by subway or bus.

If you are visiting NYC and have time to make it up there we highly recommend it. It will take about 30 minutes to scan through everything including the gift shop. As you can see from the pictures, it was pretty dead (no pun intended). However, we were told that on national holidays the memorial can get busy.
