This weekend we headed to the Carrollton, TX Home Depot to take a class on Drywall Repair and Interior Painting to get prepared for our new home. Fingers crossed there are no more snags in this process! The class taught us how to fix several different holes in the drywall, best paint methods, and what materials work best for both. I was very pleased with what they taught us for the free class, yes FREE! It was informative and hands on. One tip they gave was to take pictures and bring them in if you have questions on how to repair a certain area of your home. Their staff should be able to assist you through the problem. Once the class was over, we headed to Los Lupes for some authentic Mexican food. I have a weak spot for chilaquiles and Tyler has one for chorizo. Yum!
After our stomachs were full, we stopped in at Factory Flooring Liquidators to check out new flooring for our new casa. We are debating whether to put tile or laminate flooring in our home. Our house needs a pet proof floor and we know we want a wood look for either option. So, we’ll see what we end up deciding.
By the time we were done, we were pretty beat and decided to take a cat nap before heading out to shake it to some salsa music at Gloria’s Restaurants in Addison, TX. There was a great crowd in attendance and they had a band and a DJ playing popular Latin tunes. They serve food until 11pm then clear the restaurant out to make the dance floor. Try to get their early for dinner (around 9pm) to avoid the $10 cover charge. And plan on drinking before dancing begins because once the music starts drinks almost double in price around 11pm. We’ve been to Gloria’s to eat a few times and have always enjoyed the food options, so you cannot go wrong.
All in all, it was a great Saturday. More updates to come 🙂
