Our Remodel – Playing Catch Up

First of all, SO sorry but we have been super swamped with our house projects that we have not had time to stop and post on our blog. That said, we have accomplished a great deal in 2 months! It’s been a while since our last post and we have been SUPER busying checking items off the list on the house and wanted to update the site!

Thankfully my brother works at Sherwin Williams and I am able to use his discount!

We put up a new fence during Thanksgiving week! Thankfully my father (an amazing carpenter), my mom and sister (just plain amazing) came out to help us and team accomplished a great deal during this week! THANK YOU SO MUCH FAMILY!!!

Had a leak that wet the drywall behind the washer/dryer. So we ripped out the drywall.

Dad got the drywall fitted and ready to go for us. Now to sand it, retexture and paint!

Home owning has been a serious adventure. There are unexpected twists at every turn. We were not expecting to have an issue with water damage in our laundry room, but it happened. Thankfully my dad was able to help us when he was in town visiting! The man can do anything!

After new appliances! Just waiting on our stove (deliver Jan 5th)!

Merry Christmas to us both! Our present… new kitchen appliances to each other! Purchased all four kitchen appliances by Amana at Home Depot during their Black Friday sale for under $1500. Even thought they are the cheaper brand, they had really good reviews from a ton of people. Very excited for the new stainless look! We also saved money on the installation cost by installing the dishwasher and microwave ourselves!

Still on the to-do list:

  • New granite counter tops, paint cabinets and install island in kitchen
  • Fireplace re-tile remodel
  • Finish painting doors/trim upstairs
  • One room left to paint upstairs
  • Baseboard replacement for entire upstairs
  • Both bathroom remodels
  • Lighting fixtures for entire house
  • Garage door opener install
  • In Spring, we are going to be working on landscaping in the backyard

Whew… almost done! And I promise it will not be 2 months when you hear from us again!
