Next up on our Thailand adventure was a visit to the Golden Triangle. This triangle is located in between Myanmar (Burma), Laos and Thailand separated by the Mekong River. And we ventured to all these countries during our trip! But first, we stopped to visit the Long Neck Karen tribe where the women stretch there necks with brass rings.

When in the Golden Triangle we stopped by to visit the Long Neck Karen Tribe.

We briefly visited Tachileik, Myanmar!

Although we were only in Laos and Myanmar for about an hour each, the trip was memorable. I would love to go back to Laos and explore, but as for Myanmar, we did not feel 100% safe and I cannot say we would go back. But never say never! Next post will be on the our Northern Thailand Hillside Trek!

Why didn’t you feel safe in Myanmar? Was it something specific or just a nagging feeling?
Lots of harassing men at the border. No more then usual but their demeanor was creepier than anything we’ve encountered. We just stuck with our group and shopped then headed back into Thailand!
